About

Timer is a composer and music producer specializing in trailer music, cinematic storytelling and esports. Literature and sports events are two of his main sources of inspiration. His compositions have received multiple awards, including Second Prize at the UK International Music Competition for The Art of War, a trailer piece from his esports music project The Sound of Competition, and Silver Prize at the World Exceptional Musicians Competition for The Prisoner. Beyond his own creative work, Timer has also worked on professional projects with Surgeons’ Hall Museums in Edinburgh and esports tournament organizer Yalla Esports, bringing his music into both cultural and competitive environments.

Timer completed his MMus in Composition at the University of Edinburgh and previously studied Chinese Language and Literature at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His background in literature has shaped his interest in narrative and storytelling, which continues to influence the way he approaches music.

He has a strong background in piano performance, having studied piano from a young age and achieved Grade 10 at an early stage, along with several awards. He also had the opportunity to perform with Lang Lang at Jinan Olympic Sports Centre.
